Before I share the incredible nuggets I gathered straight from the mouths and pens of these Journalers and content creators, I want give a special shout out to our most recent reviewer:
My what unexpected uncertainty you brought this month, but I am grateful to say we are still standing, still loving and still hoping for brighter and better days.
This month taught us we are more innovative and creative than we ever knew possible as we were forced to take a step back and just be still in the moment of being.
As our previous Episode pointed out, “all we have to do is offer ourselves as listeners to hear God’s still voice” and what He is speaking to us at this beautifully meditative time in history.
So much greatness is being birthed. What is He saying to you at this very hour of reading, journaling and being a reflection of the creator?
𝘈𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥, spending quality time, just being together and 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 to each other and Podcasts like Radiant Pearl Living makes it easy to 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦.
What are your goals this new month that is before us or what are you working on? I’d love to learn more about your projects and plans over in our Facebook group and on the blog.

Takeaways:
- Author, Evangelist Wife and Journaling Expert-Lois Greene
Journaling is unique to each person. It is Biblical and it will enhance your relationship with God. There is no set of rules to journaling. You can journal with an artistic flair, write small masterpieces or simply journal Bible verses and jot down words only you will understand.
One tip that really helps me is to find a journal that draws you. It could be a Walmart journal, a plain, nothing fancy journal or a handmade journal (I am actually journaling in all three right now!). When you see the journal, you feel inspired to write, draw, plan, dream and meditate. Use a writing tool that you love the feel of it in your hand and how it looks on the paper. Having good tools to begin with will help you make the journey more pleasant and will keep you coming back.
You are one of kind and so is your journal! No one else can have your experiences, your thoughts, your God moments, your life, your journal. Make it personal. Make it real. If you are struggling to begin, start by writing scripture verses. If God speaks to you as you are writing, jot that down in the margin or on the next page and let the journey grow organically! If you like art, pick a scripture and ask God to give you creative expression for that particular verse. There are tons of videos on YouTube that will give you much inspiration for art journaling.
If you feel like journaling in a blank book is too big of a leap, find a journal/devotional that gives you guidance as you journal. Find one that brings you to the word of God, asks thoughtful questions, and leads you in prayer. It can be a great way to get started down the path of journaling!
Thank you to Lois Greene for that incredibly insightful tip and we look forward to you listeners learning more about the journals she creates, in an upcoming episode! Now, on to more encouraging tips from delightful content creators on the world wide web.
- Bible Journaling Jumpstart- Mary Anne Fellows
During these times of uncertainty, it can be hard to come up with unique and creative ideas. Now, more than ever, it is vital that the focus be on the Lord, not on the “art”. It took a long time for me to get out of my own way when it came to my Bible Journaling! There is nothing wrong with creating beautiful faith art, but first and foremost, it must be about your time in the Word.
A good devotional is a wonderful place to start with Bible Journaling. My first tip is to look for a devotional that really resonates with you and use it as a jumping off point. There are some wonderful shops that offer devotionals. Many include ephemera that you can order, and/or printables, that you can use in your faith art. Following a devotional, spending time in prayer, then time in the Word, will get you going in the right direction. It doesn’t have to be a huge amount of time either….5 to 10 minutes in a devotional and prayer, and then another 5 minutes reading your Bible, can put you on the right track. Having pre-designed images and combining them with a background of watercolor, or ink blending, can make for a quick and beautiful page!
I believe it is important that we be gentle with ourselves during this time of high stress. We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves just perusing Pinterest and Instagram! But you may have heard Theodore Roosevelt’s quote that “comparison is the thief of joy”. Nowhere is this more true than in Bible Journaling and faith art! Our time with the Lord must be the priority. So my second tip is, don’t let yourself become overwhelmed with all the options available…..there are tons of methods and techniques for Bible Journaling. Just pick one and if it doesn’t work for you, move on to something else. God just wants us to show up and He will always meet us where we are! Bible journaling is not only a wonderful way to study the Bible, but it provides much comfort during these times of stress. Let your love for the Lord flow into your Bible pages…..doodle, color, paint, or write out scripture! Whatever feels right for you. This is YOUR special time with God…..make it special!
- Journaler & blogger-Rae
I recently did a post on my blog about the joys of journaling, especially during times like this. It’s good to use a journal now to document and record your feelings, but for me, journaling is a personal release. It helps me keep track of my feelings and thoughts. When I’m worried or anxious about something I write about how I’m feeling. Writing helps me relax and I’m able to read and see exactly what was bothering me or what I was afraid of.
For some reason, reading helps me to realise it really wasn’t as bad as I thought. After the fact, I read what I wrote and I often think, “that happened, I survived and I really am stronger than I think”.
Although some people may think documenting this time might be morbid or depressing, it doesn’t have to be. Some really bad things are happening in the world, but there is still some good. You can journal about the positives in the world when everything else seems negative.
Remember journaling is a personal experience, there aren’t any rules. Do what you’re comfortable with, what helps you and what makes you happy.

How you can journal or plan a life you love during a crisis.
Tip 1: We are all in the middle of times where we get stuck in our own heads. And you may ask yourself why and how do you get and keep your mind right throughout all of this. What do you do? How should you feel? What should happen? Many have questions, but honestly few have answers. So what do you do? Only what you can do, work on you to get you through it. I Reflect and Journal: Write it out, get it out. Don’t hold it in, release it, so it doesn’t hold you. Your mind matters too much to let those thoughts hold you captive.
Tip 2: We are all in the middle of times where we could get stuck, get in our own heads, and now want to do life. Knowing this, you have to be willing to do the hard and difficult work. Can I ask you, are you dealing with anything right now? Are you trying to push through? How’s it working for you? Growing up, my Mama would tell us you need to deal with “it” before “it” deals with you. Today I’m checking in to ask you if you have an “it”, and to make sure you take the time to deal with “it”. It’s very easy for “it” to take over, and as hard as it may be, “it” must be dealt with.
Tip 3: Take Moments of Reflection to ask yourself: Don’t be afraid to ask yourself and process through the hard stuff. What are you dealing with right now? Be willing to be in the here and now. We hold no control of tomorrow, and we can’t change today. The challenge and the work you must do, is to not just exist, but live. Don’t stop living or thriving because of all of this.
- Take Heart as an Overcomer! -Stacy Zant
Pause and think for a moment, grab that pen and write what comes to mind. You will immediately begin to see what exactly consumes your thoughts and what is at the top of your mind. Personally, it is hard for me to move on and accomplish tasks triumphantly that require much thought and introspection, unless I’ve taken the time to write down the things that I know I need to accomplish. It’s as though I was in a time-warp until I write down the things that need to be completed and check off my to-do list in my Radiant Pearl Planner. It may just be a habit and discipline that I’ve honed over the weeks, months and years. Nevertheless, it is a discipline that has pushed me on the path to clear prayers and overflowing gratitude for goals I can vividly see were accomplished, after taking the time to record and then color in my circles.
I am reminded daily that what I put before my eyes and listen to intently, plays a role in what I come to believe and eventually say. Therefore, I choose to be cautious about what I consume…”Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.” Matthew 12:34 let that simmer for a little while.

This is a great resource! I like the S.O.A.P method for journaling.
Thank you so much Shiquita! That is certainly a great method for journaling and studying <3
I’ve recently started journaling, even though it never occurred to me that that’s what I was doing. I try to write down my prayers because I notice that it helps me to look back on all of the things that God has done for me. Many of the things that were prayers a year ago, have already been resolved now…even if it wasn’t how I expected them to be. It’s a very therapeutic process for me. Thanks!
That’s beautiful Amie! You’re well on your way to living a peaceful life already utilizing this very therapeutic discipline indeed. <3
I think it does, sometimes it’s hard to talk it out, which is why I journal, it helps me actually see my thoughts and see what’s going on, it helps me to try and work on what’s bothering me.
This is a much needed blog, thanks
Hi Christina! Love to know you are utilizing the discipline of Journaling and that it helps! I so appreciate your kind words and comment.
I love journaling. Writing down what I’m grateful for and my goals for the day/week. Loved this!!
Maryvivian, so glad to hear you loved this and that you are writing down what you are grateful for, I am so with you on doing this daily and weekly 🙂
I think writing always helps release emotions and stress, even if it’s private and never published.
So True! Half of the things I write is just a way to release what is in my head and heart. Love that journaling helps you as well! 🙂
