Have you considered the ways you can practice self care while doing all the things you love? or are you still wondering how to accomplish all the things on your bucket list-that you have in mind to do this season?
School is officially out all across the country and if you have kids who normally go to school, you may be overwhelmed with all the additional responsibilities having a kid at home brings. Because I know my readers love lists and I want to make this bite-sized for you to read and take with you as you truly enjoy this season, I am going to give you five (5) things you should consider to ramp up your self-care this season. Just because your kids are home in the education world, it doesn’t mean you should be less productive, less pretty or less purposeful due to the whole other level of stress this season can bring.
Here are some Self-Care Ideas I have found beneficial for me in times past. I am positive it will transform how you think about the ways you take care of yourself and ways you can improve your quality of life on towards radiant living!
1. Take time out to reflect and plan
- We have so many thoughts swirling around in our heads that it can get overwhelming at times. Your mind can be so bogged down with all the thoughts of things you need to get done, would like to get done or should have completed throughout the day. To eradicate the constant trap of wonder and worrying about all the things, journal or utilize a planner to keep things in order where your mind and goals are concerned. There is a reason why there are groups and communities dedicated to the art of journaling.
2. Declutter and organize your home
- Create a safe space in your home to decompress. Everyone needs a sanctuary, a place where you can go to hide away and just be you. This is a space that inspires you with beauty because you have taken the time to remove all the clutter and you are free to dream and soar undistracted. Not to mention, you will be amazed to see the things you will be able to accomplish because you are Free To Focus.

3. Get yourself a Nanny if you have kids.
- An Au-pair, a babysitter, a nanny, these are just some of the names we call a person who releases you to have the time we desperately need while important responsibilities are cared for. Hiring a Nanny allows you the opportunity to spend time in other areas that also needs attention. Moms and women in general think they have to be Wonder Woman and do all the things on their own. However, this could not be further from the truth, there are services and reliable qualified help that can put your mind at ease while you receive the service you deserve as a hardworking mom. Get this, Nanny and Kids United even offers House sitting if you need someone to watch your home while you take an extended vacation away with your family. Talk about peace of mind, this is the number one thing we need to actively observe the art of self-care.

Nannies and Kids United is a full-service childcare placement agency, serving families in the territory of Georgia. Nannies & Kids United has a large network of screened sitters, nannies, tutors, assistants, housekeepers and much more. They specialize in full time, permanent placements with extensive screening to ensure that only the highly qualified and experienced are with the correct families. They have years of experience in childcare services as well as the best guarantees of any agency in Georgia. If you’re worried about price, they offer a price match guarantee on agency fees as well as negotiated group discounts on nanny payroll services. Nannies and Kids United offer free consultations as well so make sure to give them a call today for your childcare or housekeeping needs to give you the self care you deserve this season.
Last Minute Travel – Travel with No Borders4. Make time to Relax and Unwind with music
- Did you know music taps into your subconsciousness and communicates with a deeper part of your being without you even realizing it? This is why music is so important to either uplift your spirits or bring you to a place of intense feeling. You could be jamming to some music in Spotify and all of a sudden the playlist changes to a song that has you in tears or bopping your head with all the feels. This is the effect music can have on your outward posture and actions without you realizing it. With these factors in mind, I encourage you to listen to music that will get you in the right frame of mind as you are reminded how valued, loved and amazing you are! And for all our believers, you’ll be invited into God’s presence as you are reminded how amazing our God is and that he holds your entire world in His hands.

5. Do Something that makes you happy!
- Last but surely not least, we all have different definitions of what makes us happy. So I have left this last item on the list open and subjective to who you are as a person. For me, it is creating art that others can appreciate, sharing love, passion, purpose and truth, ministering in the gifts I have been given to edify the body and my community. What does happiness look like to you? I’d love to hear from you, we just may see the things we all have in common or how unique we are. Either way, we would have entered into a deeper place of self-discovery and community.
Now that you have defined your idea of happiness will you create your own self-care list for this season? If so, I would love to hear what you will include on your list!

This is great! Taking time to plan is definitely helpful for me as self-care. Also listening to music for a few minutes. This summer I’ve been opening up a window when it rains and taking some time to just sit and listen.
