Takeaways:

Jacki Edwards was so kind to share her wisdom with us and here are the takeaways:

  1. That’s where I found my purpose, encouraging others to stay focused, connect with God, and to push forward. It doesn’t matter the obstacles, if you remain alive and your soul connects to God, you can make it. And so I still pray that prayer, let my soul live. Because that fire within you, that passion within you, that purpose is connected to your soul being connected to Him.

  2. I will say to anyone, the young people, your path that you’re taking, don’t take it lightly. That it’s just you, that’s what I want to be..God can switch things. You have to make yourself pliable and flexible in His hands. Although I didn’t always know, but I caught on. He just gave me that passion to pursue the degrees. He told me, watch me take you places. And I thought I was going to travel the world. I ended up in the backwoods of Georgia, dirt road, forest, but the fulfillment, you talk about passion, Stacy, that fulfillment you feel inside, that drive you feel inside of you, that passion inside of you, that leads you to purpose.

  3. We need to take action. Yes, sometimes that’s what I have been doing. God gives me ideas and thoughts. And I take action. Also, one of my favorite psalms is Psalms 138:8, He said, He will perfect that which concerns you and me. So the nice little things that you like, or someone else like, God likes that and he allows you to do that. I love to travel. Okay, I didn’t ask for this job. He presented it to me. I didn’t even know that I will be traveling.

  4. I am not rich, but His blessings are overflowing. And so when God positions you in a place, you don’t need to worry about the end, ifs or buts. We have to prepare ourselves. The education gives you access. He said to me, watch me take you places, I thought physical but it also means status, Accolades. Because I’m a nurse practitioner and my appointments are made for me, someone makes those appointments. When I knock on the door, the person on the other side opens the door allows me to walk in, because they’re expecting me, right? Because I have access. So to the young person, school is important. Yeah, some people are just talented and gifted, and God has given special talents to all of us. And you go, you may go to a trade school, but you have to build yourself. It just doesn’t come overnight. It’s a process and it is painful. I’m doing my doctorate degree right now and I’m in my last year. It’s been three almost three years coming up. It’s been painful. But the process you have to go through is not a destination.

  3. Am I sharing my story of triumph with someone who needs to hear it?
