Hi Radiant Pearl!
Welcome to our #RadiantArtJournaling Challenge. (With a special highlight to a united project supporting our crafty sisters)
This is a 10-part series that you should have jumpstarted with the Free Art Journaling webinar available here.
It’s Day 3, and we only have seven more days to make art (as you define it) journaling a habit.
Above you will find your Day 3 video prepared just for you.
As a participant in The Papercrafters unite Against Racism project, I want to share with you a special project that will build on what we learned and shared together in community yesterday.
The Significance of What We Are Creating
Today we are exploring yet another form of art and how to create a special kind of card to thank someone special and someone different than you for their friendship.
I don’t know about you, but my world always lights up when I receive a thoughtful card from someone who took the time to pick out a sentiment that best represents our relationship. When they go the extra mile to create something, I am encouraged in community.
During this time when we are spending so much time online, it’s safe to say that we are making more connections with people we’ve never met in person and people we have been introduced to that has made a difference to how we learn and experience community online. The overall mindset when it comes to consuming information to better your life and business has certainly shifted.
Personally, I’ve been blessed to make connections before now primarily through church, ministry involvement, creating programs, ministering through my gifts of singing and speaking at conferences.
Now, everything seems to have gone virtual and because that is our present reality, it does not mean we should neglect the simple courtesy that stirs up fondness and gratefulness in our hearts. We should have consideration for our friends who have supported us in the past and those who are still doing so in the present, by simply showing up and being who they are.
How do you command clarity in your life and envision who you can uplift in the process?
Begin with a mind of abundance and gratefulness. Who are you grateful for?
Who I Am Grateful for
While I reflect and journal, I am grateful for the amazing people who have impacted my life by:
- Just being a friend,
- Tuning in when I go live,
- Taking note when I share a new story
- Spreading the love when I publish a podcast episode, weekly newsletter or blog post,
The list of people I am grateful for is long and the least I can do is to create yet another piece filled with love and great reflection to say thank you.
Creating a card to gift to someone with a journaling component is such a fun and reflective way to remember this moment in time. It’s a season of growth for all of us as we envision a more refined person who has chosen to live to heightened potential after going through this journey and process.

Don’t forget to use the #RadiantArtJournaling
I look forward to seeing what you share over in our interactive Radiant Pearl Facebook group where you can interact with other radiant dreamers, goal setters, visionary dreamers.

Words of encouragement from Susan Nelson–
I’m Sue Nelson with Woman of Noble Character. Planning and journaling are two of the most effective ways that I’ve found to cope with what life throws at me. It helps me to stop worrying and give it to God.
When I journal my prayers, I am, in essence, getting on my knees and presenting my worries and fears to God. My journal is my letters to God. He is strong when I am weak. By giving Him my concerns, I let Him take over and do what I cannot do. I am not God, but He who created us and knows what each hour of our lives will look like, can hear my petitions and answer in His way. Not always in the way I desire or expect, but He always answers.
Especially, as I go through this cancer journey. I have fears and worries and many side effects. I pray for healing to God in my journal and ask Him to walk alongside me as I go through treatments and surgeries.
I also find that writing scripture in my journal helps tremendously. I usually write scripture around a certain topic. Recently, the verses have been about hope, healing and how God fights for us. Getting into His Word and wrapping myself in His promises has been a incredible blessing.
Finally, I’m an avid planner. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t want us to be stressed. I use tons of lists as well as an online calendar. By planning out, not just my meetings and appointments, but daily tasks, I find that I forget less, accomplish more and can spread out the tasks so I’m not overwhelmed. I’ve also been known to write scripture or short prayers on my online calendar to remind me of His love and not to fear.
In Matthew 6:26-27 we read
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Pray, journal, give it to Our Father who loves you more than you can even imagine.
I am so grateful Susan took the time to share those encouraging words and tips with us. Now, you will hear from more fearless creators and journalists- Kimmy Cheung, Louise Pistole and Brie LaPrelle.
Thank you for sharing how Journal and plan for a radiant life you love during a crisis and always.
